Apparently Pandas Are Worth Risking Human Lives

How stupid is that? People nearly die multiple times in this film all for the sake of saving pandas! I agree that saving animals is important but this movie takes it way too far! To the point that Ryan is hanging off of a cracking branch on a treacherous mountain ledge trying to save a panda and his father literally allows it to happen.

Ryan is spot on earlier in the movie when he realizes that his father is caught up in his reserve work to the point of ridiculousness but later Ryan himself becomes obsessed with gambling his life away for the panda and is practically agreeing with his father's absurdity. The father never apologizes for basically abandoning his son. Instead, he offers his son a summer job caring for the panda and everything is reconciled.

Aside from all the cheesiness, bad acting, and unoriginal scenes, this movie is crazily environmental and pushes some wacko propaganda. I enjoyed it as a kid but as I grew older I realized it's literally good for nothing more than ten year old enjoyment and beautiful Chinese mountains. Hard to even classify it as a decent kids movie however because of the scene where Ryan talks about nude women and being a ladies man. Yeah, that's so ten year old level and it definitely confused me as a kid.
