Was Joe gay?

So for some reason I ended up on the "Wishbone" page on Wikipedia (you know, sometimes your just checking random things on wiki and it keeps leading you to other pages...) and it said "The show received criticism from many in the Christian community after Joe Talbot came out as a homosexual in a controversial episode.". Is that true? I remember watching this show as a kid and there was no mention of him being a homosexual. Hmm i guess it might be some pranksters writing random things but thats kind of odd they would do it on the wishbone page.

Wha.

I think that might be someone fooling around with the page. D: I couldn't see PBS allowing a controversial episode like that. :||

Which is very sad. The fact that people find homosexuality ''adult'' whereas heterosexuality suitable for children is quite weird and actually rather sad. Homosexuality is as much about sex as heterosexuality is. Homosexuality is as much about love as heterosexuality is.

Joe was just a kid, he probably wouldn't even know at that age if he was gay or not.

I guess Joe Talbott had a Wishboner for David.

Oh, c'mon. 'Tis a joke.
I am a fan of the show. I think it is a shame that it's not on anymore.

No other show that teachers kids classic literature comes to mind.

No no no, you know he had a thing for Damont. Sort of that love/hate hotness. He always did seem a little gay to me. Could be the character, actor, or my own wishful thinking. Oh well, I guess we won't find out until the next season where Joe's in college with a new dog who goes over college-level material. "Femur: The College Years"

That's the funniest thing I've read all week.

It was a hoax. Someone put in there once some other false info. I edited that myself. Looks like the pranksters are still out there.

The thing about Wikipedia is that anyone can upload it, the actor might have been gay (x.x I dunno, I'm saying he might've. It's been a while since I've seen anything Wishbone), but I can't see PBS letting an episode like that in there.

I've been burnin in water and drownin in flame to prove you wrong and scare you away.

reply

Use common sense, will you? Do you REALLY think a PBS childrens' show would have an episode relating to ANYTHING gay?? Geez.....

reply

>I guess Joe Talbott had a Wishboner for David.

That was priceless. But no PBS would never allow that on a kids show. Heck they probaly wouldn't allow it on a adults show either.

It is dumb ones who ruin Wikipedia for the ones who are realy tring to learn something. What's good is that there are smart people who fix it.

PBS would never show a homosexual programme for such small kids, even though it could be for only educational issues. Did ya'll hear that the Utah PBS station (maybe in the rest in the US?) canceled that one Postcards From Buster episode that was about a Lesbian couple? I heard about it on the news a few months back.

Well at least we know it's not true.

reply

I think it might have made a pretty good episode.

Nah to contervirsal.

I highly doubt Joe was gay. I always thought that he and Sam would get together.

In the episode where they covered the Courtship of Miles Standish, Joe has a crush on a girl who ultimately falls for David. So, no.
