Add it to the list of perpetually called-for shows that fans want to be released for home viewing, either by streaming/digital download or on physical media. PBS is in unprecedented dire straits at this point (which is why Sesame Street ended up being sold to HBO), so there's not really much of a chance at seeing new video releases of their classic kids' shows anymore.
Reading Rainbow is another that remains to be fully released. There's the Rainbow "app" endorsed by LeVar himself, but so far, no DVD collection. Sesame Street has been on since the Nixon administration, so digital downloads would probably be best for that. Same with Mister Rogers.
The Puzzle Place is in copyright limbo, because the original rights holder went bankrupt, and apparently the company owner died (?). Not sure if Shari Lewis & Lamb Chop are on DVD. I also posted elsewhere on this board about how annoyed I am at not being able to see full episodes of classic SNL anymore. There's a cult-favorite anime series that aired on Nickelodeon in the 1990s called *The Littl' Bits,* which is only available on DVD in Japanese and, I think, Bulgarian or something? A lot of those Nickelodeon anime dubs from Shuki Levy and Haim Saban are probably going to be locked up in perpetuity, now that Saban Entertainment is a Disney property like everything else.
As for PBS, I'm still waiting for Best of 321 Contact too. But there's an old joke about PBS: the initials really stand for Perpetually Broke Station aka Pledge-Begging Station.
