They should put Vanishing Son out on DVD

Since dvd is not a standard format for viewing movies and other tv shows instead of VHS. I think it's time they put Vanishing Son out on dvd in the US. I'm sure alot of people would love to see this happen. I love Vanishing Son's storyline with the occasional Martial Arts mixed in. I've been trying to find the show on VHS for years now without any luck. I'm just glad I taped a few episodes while it was still airing on tv. It's really weird that the show aired in the US. But you can't find it anywhere in the US to buy.

I found this site TVShowsOnDVD.com where you can vote on shows that you would like to see sold as DVD's.

To be honest I haven't a clue how much of an impact it would make to vote there, but what will it hurt to try?

This is not spam or an advertisment, this is for fans of The Vanishing Son who want to try something to see it again.

I recently found Vanishing Son III UNCUT, but I'm still looking for I, II, and IV. Has anybody else had any luck? I'm specifically looking for the UNCUT versions, not what was taped off of TV

We really have to do something to bring this show onto dvd or at least encode it online. It's like this show is almost forgotten by now. You can't even find any good websites on them and even tvtome.com, the most extensive info database on TV series' doesn't have jack info on the Vanishing Son series.

I was checking my guide for the off chance that this show was back on.
No luck. I used to watch this show every friday on Action Pak.

Greetings,
Need I say more? You are remembered.

I agree. I loved this show when I was 12, and if were to watch it again I'm sure I would be able to get much more out of it.

Same here I was around 11, 12 when I first watched the show, Loved it and for years searched for the title "Rising Son" untill I recognized Kai in Romeo Must Die...so after looking up his acting history found the title Vanishing Son...It would be great if somehow we could get the show on DVD....there has to be some way to get it.

One of the few shows I've watched back in the day. After they stopped showing it I saw Russell Wong in a movie or two, and then he got a big hit in Romeo Must Die. I wish he did more movies. He seems to be doing more TV stuff. I just wished they replayed the episodes which I didn't get to see and release the movies and TV series onto DVD.

My son is Adam Aron - he was Joey in the "Single Flame" episode and my VHS is totally messed up. I would love a copy. Would be willing to pay for a good copy of it. If anyone has one, I would sure appreciate it. Thanks!

ROB COHEN`s television directorial credits include an Emmy nominated episode of Miami Vice, as well as segments of thirtysomething, Hooperman, A Year in the Life and Private Eye. He also created, wrote and executive produced the series Vanishing Son, notable for being one of the very few to focus on Asian characters...with Asian actors filling all of those roles. Vanishing Son won two MANAA (Media Action Network for Asian-Americans) Awards for positive portrayal of Asians in media, one for the program itself, and another for star Russell Wong.

Cohen has done some big budget movies like little known Fast and the Furious and XXX. Maybe if we start to appeal to him about a dvd he would get the ball rolling. I mean he's got to have a website, everyone does.

I recently found Vanishing Son II, III and IV on vhs in a second-hand shop, but it's all European PAL standard, sorry.
With subtitles even.

Yep - go vote on the tvshowsondvd website mentinoed above.
I've been told that industry people check the site.

Go make a fanlisting for Vanishing Son - or something.
Get the title of the show out there.

I've been lobbying to get this show as well as weird science and she-wolf of london on DVD format or even VHS for several years now. Studios would rather release Green Acres and F Troop seasons on DVD than any real substantial television. It's very disappointing.

Goddamn! It's been 15 years since it aired! Time flies! I'll never ever forget this TV show. Being a young Asian American girl at the time it was aired on TV it was so exciting to see such a handsome and talented actor as Russell Wong. I loved the show and I'd definately buy the DVDs if they had it in a heart beat. I have friends who still remember this TV show and I knwo they'd love to watch it again as well.
