Have you ever noticed...

how similar VR-5 and Alias are?

I was watching my old VHS copies of the series and there are several similarities between the two.

In both shows:

The main character is named Sydney B. (Minorly she is tall and thin with straight hair.)

Her father works for a top secret organization. (The Committee/The Alliance)

Her father performed some experiment(s) on her when she was young.

Her mother is presumed dead but really alive.

She gets recruited into the same organization as her father.

She has a handler through one of the agencies she works for.

These are just a few.

Can you think of others?

"Alias" is a cheap, carbon-copy of more than one TV series with a kick-ass female lead, especially La Femme Nikita.

Alias sucks my left nut and Jennifer garner has no acting talent what so ever, just look how great her movie Elektra turned out, no sequal cause it sucked manily due to her poor acting, and partly due to the crapy story. I understand shes supposed to be tough but the boss fight scenes could have lasted onger, just like the Hulk and Ghost rider all teh villians go down quick which makes for a boring movie with no inventiveness, the point of having super powered super heros and villians is to make a good story where the hero has to use their witts to overcome a powerful enemy.

Yeah the show Alias sucked cause the stories were just boring like all the acting.

I agree completely.

Never watched Alias, because I had the feeling it would suck--But you're spot on regarding Jennifer Garner's acting. She's not good looking, she can't act all that well--I mean, she's okay, but she's no Uma. And the Marvel movies don't have nearly enough fight scenes that last longer than a couple of minutes.

At least the X-men are supposed to be able to figure out the more advanced puzzles due to their superior intelligence--but they're mainly bricks that don't do much fighting. There's way too much emotional human (or, in this case, mutant) drama story--which also isn't all that great--but it gets in the way of what should be the slick violence--which also ain't so great.

Either give us a superhero movie that's fun, nice and violent like the comic books, or make us think and give us a truly human hero with a heart inside the suit. When they try to do both, they invariably go wrong.

And Jennifer Garner--at least in Daredevil--was a horrible casting choice. Uma would have been a much better decision--but she's probably about a foot taller than Affleck. Never seen one minute of Alias. Don't even know what it's about--and it's going to stay that way.

I haven't even seen Elektra--I have too much respect for Frank Miller (well, at least the pre-300 Frank Miller, before he started spouting off a bunch of racist BS on NPR), and I don't see myself _ever_ seeing it.

It sounds weird, but Jon Favreau was the best part of Daredevil...

I have no problem with Jennifer Garner, at least in the acting department, as she did a good job on " Alias " ( 2001 - 2006 ). However, I agree completely about " Elektra " ( 2005 ) - even Jennifer Garner agree that the film sucked thanks to poor writing.
