Spiritual successor to Married With Children

Unhappily Ever After can't be considered a rip-off of Married With Children because they're both created by Ron Leavitt. A spiritual successor would be a more appropriate term for this show. The show's formula is intentionally similar to Married With Children (right down to the over-the-top audience) with a couple of changes (the son is dumb, the daughter is smart and a virgin, the third child wasn't quite as annoying and pointless as Seven, and of course Mr. Floppy)

some of the major actors have also appeared on both shows:
Geoffrey Pierson (Jack Malloy) appeared on Married With Children as Roland Squab.
Bob Goldthwait (Mr. Floppy) appeared on Married With Children as Peg's cousin Zemus.
David Faustino (Bud Bundy) appeared on Unhappily Ever After as fast food tycoon Jimbo Bacilli.

No it still rip off the main formula. U just made my case. The same creator, the difference is married with children was a great show. This was alright, Nikki was the main reason to watch.

wow, so all the star trek spinoffs and CSI spinoffs are actually ripoffs??? and the same goes for angel? just a buffy ripoff?

mind blown.

More like a blatant rip off of Married with Children with poorly contrived storylines and annoying characters. Also, having to hear Bobcat Goldthwait's voice screechy voice doesn't add much either.

This show was so retarded. The only thing that made it worthwhile was Nikki.
