Is it me or when the show was running, Habib was meant to be the 'wisest' character with her PC messages...
... whereas in today's anti-PC climate more people would support Fowler?

When Fowler talks about entrapment and he says "It is not the job of the police to entice people into breaking the law" - that could be viewed as an outdated attitude in today's police state (here in the US, anyway).
