Favourite/least favourite characters

Personally I like them all except Dawkins, but maybe we're meant to be annoyed by her, she's a pain.

Like ...... Inspector Grim

Dislike ... Constable Habib. Couldn't stand her PC rants and a rather grating accent

reply

Grimm is the best. The only character I dislike in any way is Boyle, and only really in the Court in the Act episode. He's just a bit to nasty in that one.

reply

Like - Cray. Funny as anything! I like the whole ladies man thing he's got going on ;)

Dislike - Crockett? The other one on Grim's team, blonde, didn't really do much... dunno why they had her in the series really

reply

I liked all of them Fowler and how he would go on and on about things-well they all did that to a some dergeee or another but his out like was a riot.
Grim it was the same thing.
I liked Maggie and Patricia as well.I guess some didn't like the women on the show but I did.
Goody was brilliant-as a character that is not an easy character to do he did it just right.
Boyle was the only one I didn't care too much for but he didn't spoil it for me I just miss not seeing Kray in those episodes instead.

reply

Boyle and Patricia were the least funny

Goody used to be my fave when I was younger, but as I've grown up a little I've appreciated Fowler's sarcastic humour more
Atkinson is the best!

reply

Fowler is a riot nearly everything he says is funny he's smart but sometimes something goes right over his head!

reply

I absolutely DETEST Goody - he's far too over-the-top and spoils any scene he's in.
Habib would have been better without the regional accent, and a less slutty attitude, which seems at odds with her 'PC-ness'.
Grimm was an absolute classic character, as was Fowler. Kray was good too; shame he was only in the 1st series.

Either Fowler or Grimm would be my favorite, I wouldn't say I really disliked any of them. One thing that does annoy me a bit is when Habib is seen laughing, or more often trying to stifle a laugh, at one of Fowler's inanities. Sure it's funny, we in the audience know it's funny and if we were in her place we'd probably laugh to but we really don't need the on-screen prompting. Her character would be better served if she played off Raymond's ridiculousness with some of her own rather than seeming to break character and just have a giggle. Case-in-point, in Fowler's and Grimm's scenes together you don't see them cracking each other up and those scenes are probably the show's best.

reply

Dawkins. she drives me up the wall,i recently watched them from NetFlixs and she drives me loco, if your so unhappy with him LEAVE HIM, SIMPLE. Habib sometimes gets annoying with her PC rants.

The minute God crapped out the third caveman, a conspiracy was hatched against one of them!

reply

I actually like Habib for her rants or that at times she appears to be the only sane person in the building at times. Fowler is surprisingly a likeable guy, usually the upper stiff lipped but a stumbling fool type is annoying but not in this case.

Goody is the only dislike, just overly acts out.

reply

My favourite character here is Const. Kevin Goody. The actor, maybe, overacts, but he makes it with such intimidating style that even Mr Rowan Atkinson has to step aside.

My least favourite is, without any doubt, DC Gary Boyle. Maybe Mr Mark Addy is a good actor but here he spoils the show. His character is just a vulgar fat unfunny jerk, who simply has no chance to compete with the greatness of other men and persons here.

Best:
Fowler: Genuine character who has a way with words.
Grimm: Hilarious mangling of the English language.
Kray: Wisecracking and very funny.
Mayoress Wickham: A real nasty piece of work but very, very funny.

OK:
Habib: A little too PC for my taste, but has some genuinly funny lines
Gladstone: A couple of great moments(singing Old Man River while the BBC crew are filming them) but too often in the background
Dawkins: Quite annoying at times but occasionaly funny.

Dreadful:
Goody: Too over the top
Boyle: WTF were they thinking? Slimy in the extreme

I LOVE Habib and Goody! Habib has the cutest accent and Goody is just hilarious!!

Also Gladstone has a really funny way about him. Few comments, but when he does it's the delivery that makes it.

I totally dislike Grim and Kray. They are SO annoying!

reply

Grimm's the funniest, nearly every lines a showstealer. I watched the one where the TV crew are in the station and both him and Boyle are really funny, dunno why Boyle's getting so much hate he was good. Goody's probably my least favourite, a bit TOO over the top and alot of his jokes fall flat.
