Stange Luck/Final Destination

I just thought of something. This show seems similar to the Final Destination movies. In where fate steps in to help do good, instead of causing death. I wonder if the writers of Final Destination where fans of this show. Also, I think this could be one of the few shows that had a small even, turn into bigger events via chain reaction. Anyones thoughts on this?

"I wonder if the writers of Final Destination where fans of this show."

I have no idea if that was the case, but Glen Morgan & James Wong (Final Destination) were also writers/producers on X-Files (and Mulder is mentioned in one Strange Luck episode). They also went on to have their own show on Fox, "Space Above and Beyound". So it's at least likely that they would have known about Strange Luck.

Mulder's mention was simply an homage to the X-Files that Chris Carter et al were unaware of until asked about it after the show's cancellation. Other than that, there was no connection which is why it was merely mentioned in passing and only Mulder's first name was used (avoiding any legal repercussions).

"(avoiding any legal repercussions)."

Weren't both shows on Fox? The same company should have owned the rights to both shows.

Two wholly different production companies. Sure, Fox is the Studio, Fox most certainly contributed finances to both shows, and Fox aired both, but Ten Thirteen Productions was behind X-Files and MT2 Services Productions was the force behind Strange Luck, not to mention any possible concerns over intellectual property ownership.
