*Spoilers* - Suder in "Basics, Part 2"

If Suder had survived, do you think his heroism would have earned him a pardon?

As long as he remained Tuvok's student and continued meditation, I don't think he would have posed a threat to the rest of the crew. He had become so committed to avoiding violence that he experienced overwhelming grief when forced to use lethal force against the Kazon invaders.

I thought he had redeemed himself by the end. He could have joined the Kazon and completely escaped punishment for murdering Darwin. Instead, he gave his life to help give control of Voyager back to the Starfleet crew.

I wish they would have spent a little more time on the scene where Tuvok gives him the Vulcan blessing and it would have been nice to have Janeway there, too.

RIP Suder

Suder did sort of survive until the last moment, but in his rush to phaser all of the Kazon in Engineering, he didn't quite kill one of them, and it was that one that fired back at Suder, killing him. It would've been silly if he'd managed to kill them all with no repercussions, as if he were a perfect aim, but he was lucky enough to get as far as he did. In his last, agonised moments after having been shot, it took all of his willpower and remaining strength to push that one button that would ultimately spell doom for the occupying Kazon and enable friendly forces to invade and take back the ship. That sacrifice was honoured by Tuvok, which I thought was satisfying enough. At least he got rid of the evil Seska into the bargain.
