Help identifying an episode...

I'm wanting to watch the episode where they go down to a planet but they have to disguise themselves to avoid making first contact... they are eventually found out.
That's all I can remember, but I loved that episode! Any ideas? It wasn't Blink of an Eye 🤔
Thank you!

Was it False Profits? The two Faringi from a TNG episode pose as prophets, and the Voyager crew have to pose as natives in order to end their scheming. Tom and Chakotay don't wear disguises per se, though they have to buy "ear" necklaces. Neelix is altered by the doctor to impersonate a Faringi.

You can look through the episode list here:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112178/episodes?season=3&ref_=ttep_ep_sn_pv

You can also go back and forth through the different seasons to look for the episode.

The only other one I can think of is Time and Again from season 1 where Janeway and Paris pose as natives. Not really disguises though.

Time and Again is the winner! Thanks guys!
Although I don't remember Kes having such a large roll 🙄

Good episode. I liked when Tom tells the kid, "Because we ARE demons who eat children, and I haven't had my lunch yet". Or something like that. As I recall, Janeway wasn't insufferable in this episode either.

It's easy to overlook Kes, especially in the early days since her story was so closely tied to Neelix's. I liked the role she played on the ship.

Future's End?

reply

Oooh, I will give all three of these a watch and let you know! I think it's False Prophets as I remember it being a Tom-heavy episode 😁
Thanks you guys!

Tom-heavy episodes are the best kind, along with Seven-heavy episodes.

But Tom's role in Future's End was heavier than in False Profits.

And while they did have to disguise themselves in Future's End, they weren't really successful in avoiding first contact as they were in False Profits.

Seven is my absolute favorite... she's just so interesting.
I will start with Future's End first as I don't remember their "disguises" being too sucessful.
I also feel like there was something to do with time distortion, but I the last time I saw the episode was 15 years ago, so I really can't remember correctly. I know there was a beautiful courtyard that looked like is was a futuristic Roman inspired set 🤔
Anyway, onto the episodes 😁

Time and Again also sort of resembles your description.

reply

Maybe it is Time and Again since that sounds like it would have something to do with a time paradox 🤔

Um... every Star Trek episode ever made?

reply

Definitely not 🙄 Thanks for your invaluable contribution.
