Time for a remaster to High definition

They are just starting a repeat on the SyFy channel but the quality is dreadful. I hadn't seen 'The Caretaker' for years but it's impact with the advent of high quality TV's is severely dented. The colours look muddy and out of focus especially when compared to the revitalized STNG.

I guess the problem is the cost of redoing all the digitally produced FX scenes which have a relatively low pixel count

You are oh so right...I am watching the dvd set right now, and it is bad...Not to mention there is no provision to "play all"..The quality is really poor as you said...

Well I doubt whoever now owns the series is going to fork out - so it maybe up to the fans to use say Kickstarter to fund it.

If we all gave £10 it would raise the millions needed.

I'll see if it's possible to send a mail to the Star Fan club - It'll probably get ignored .

Well I've sent a form to Starfleey Operations on the http://sfi.org/contact/ website.

Now if we only had some Latinum.

Hi here's their reply

Hi Sir,
Thank you for your suggestion. STARFLEET, as an organization, must remain unbiased when dealing with these types of crowd sourcing events. We also cannot compel our members to contribute. However, I am including our Chief of Communications to this email in the event she has room in the CQ to advertise this opportunity to the membership.
