What do you think was the best season?

I really enjoyed the story arc "The Neogenic Nightmare." I think it was the best season. It really showed the short/long term, good/bad effects of science on humanity. Spiderman's delayed mutation stemming from his powers was also a really interesting aspect.

Yeah, I really liked season two, the neogenic nightmare stufff, Too. My favoirte was the episodes with morbius the vampire.

I like the first 3 seasons equally. Seasons 4 and 5 get a lesser rating. But I still liked them. I honestly think it would've been better if they'd left the clone saga out of this.

I think the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seasons were the best. It got weird and stupid during the 4th season

I think Season 2 (Neogenic Nightmare) is the overall best, and most consistent season, but Season 3 (The Sins of the Fathers) has the best episodes of the entire show. It's just that the beginning of that season started off really, really weak. Season 1 is probably tied with 3 I think.

4 and 5 were also good, but have some of the worst episodes of the show, which takes them down a few notches.

The first season felt like Classic Spider-Man,even with villain-of-the-week format there was still a strong sense of continuity, but I do like the story arcs that followed it too. Most of the episodes were great, but it's the Alien Costume 3-parter that stands out for me.

Season 2 aka Neogenic Nightmare was awesome back then, but now you can see that it just drags on till the end of the season with the Tablet of Time and Vulture episodes.... the start was great, with the Insdious Six, Hydro-Man and the X-Men guest starring, but the Man-Spider episodes were the highlight for me. Morbius saga was a bit too long as well, but I liked Blade.

Season 3 aka Sins of the Fathers had a couple of stinkers but it had the Green Goblin and an awesome conclusion, though a shocking one with MJ and the Goblin falling through the portal. Daredevil guest starring was pretty good too, although those eps suffered from bad animation at times.

Season 4 aka Partners in Danger was more about Black Cat and returning villains, and some bad filler too. Return of the Green Goblin is the highlight, better than the rest ad matches season 1 episodes in quality.

Season 5 was like Spidey meets Cap America and Spidey goes in space for the Secret Wars. It wasn't that bad, but it didn't feel like Spidey's solo show anymore at times. The overpowered Electro as the ultimate weapon was a bit of a letdown looking back on it. The clones were mega cool, that's the highlight for me.

That being said, it's season 3 the best for the overall story with season 1 in 2nd place to me. Neogenic Nightmare had a great premise but it really felt too long after the Man-Spider was turned back into Peter Parker/Spidey and then they crammed in Silvermaine and the Time Tablet. The fourth and fifth weren't that bad either but have their weaknesses.

I have to add that I had to wait for months to see the conclusion to "Shriek of the Vulture" because that's where they stopped dubbing the show here and replaced the actors. I thought Spidey would stay old for good after seeing that cliffhanger ending so many times... no internet for me back then, but also nothing spoiled.

The first two seasons are my favorites. Especially season 1.

Overall, I agree with others, and for the same reasons. I think seasons 1-3 were best because in season 1 things were simple/classic, in season 2 the paced picked up a bit and there were awesome story arcs, and in season 3 the stories and character development were deeper. Season 4 was pretty good, I liked Black Cat, didn't like the MJ clone thing (tho I still pretend it's the real MJ). Season 5 was alright with the Secret Wars but I do think Spidey was overshadowed by everything that was going on and all the different heroes/villains sharing the limelight.

Agree with ninji19, although I didn't let the MJ clone bother me as much when I grew older and realized it was a nod to the Amazing Spider-Man series when Gwen Stacy came back around issue 142ish as a clone.

Season 1. Minimum Kingpin and several of the villains got to shine in their own episodes solo something we barely got afterwards. Other than barely half a handful of villains, I can't think of any other villains from Season 1 that got their own chance to shine like that after the first season.

And I'm not saying that I disliked Kingpin, but I didn't like how he was somehow involved in nearly every story in some shape or form. Even in the Venom three parter, he appears in two of the episodes. The Morbius storyline in Season 2 was pretty much the only huge story arc that was Kingpin free.

It's amazing how people hang around message boards of movies they don't like
