Was sandman ever in any episodes?

Nope. Back in the mid 90s, there was a live action Spider-man movie that would have been directed by James Cameron in the works. It would have featured Sandman and Electro as the villains so that made them off limits to this show. Sandman was never used however Hydro-man was apparently supposed to be his replacement. And the only reason they were able to put in "Electro" in the last season was because the movie had been cancelled.
