Good if hokey

I found this show somehow by surfing around the net reading stuff. Checked it out and it's pretty good for being a little hokey.

A show like this obviously requires suspension of disbelief, what with alternate worlds and such but when Ashka stole that guy's motorcycle it was so silly that she was able to drive it. She wouldn't have any idea what a transmission is, the guy only told her about the throttle. Even if he did talk about the trans, no way she would've figured out how to operate the clutch smoothly on the first try. Her take off would have been lurchy and stalling, lol

I also found it funny that Riana didn't do anything yet she ends up committed and has the police after her yet Ashka blows stores up, steals things and robs an armored truck but the cops never are an issue. Also, I found it silly that the father didn't just shoot her. Then again, maybe firearms aren't as prolific in Australia as they are in the US. Even so, a good punch from the father should have laid her out but instead they choose to splash water on her and grab her then just toss her aside and run. *rolling eyes*

Ashka was a very intelligent & crafty character...

She could pilot a flying ship! Did you see how many levers there were in there?
I think that if she could do that, she could figure out a clutch.

Ashka was motivated by her pursuit of power. She recognised that if she tried to understand new technologies, she could harness them to gain leverage.
She wasn't going to let anything stand in her way, least of all a transmission....

You're correct; firearms are not as prolific in Australia. A science lab in Sydney is the last place you would find one. =p

Oh I have no doubt she's intelligent enough to figure it out. My objection was that there is no way she, on the very first attempt, would get it perfectly smooth like that :)

PS, if you do not drive a manual transmission you may not realize how sensitive they are to proper clutch work. Engaging the clutch isn't just releasing a lever and going, it has to be balanced with properly applied throttle and released at the right speed. If there isn't enough throttle or it's let out improperly, it causes all sorts of bucking and commotion hehe.

She is pretty smart but even then driving a flying ship to a motorbike would be pretty different. That isn't the only thing that doesn't make sense in that show. One thing is when Alex and Katrina have to sneak on a different class's field trip to try and talk to Paul. How does that make sense? Did none of the teachers or other students realise that they were the wrong people!?

There are more and I made a video talking about Spellbinder, pointing out its flaws and great things. Check it out here:
