With X-FILES success there will never be a BETTER time to revive SLIDERS

This would be the easiest show on TV to bring back. All the four actors are still alive and are having fairly quite careers. FOX should get the band back together.

The Professor could be brought back by rescuing him from the POST TRAUMATIC SLIDE WORLD... or it can be worked out that the Quinn who go merged with Mallory and the Wade ..head in a jar...were just doubles. That way we could keep Maggie with the team.

If we wanted to go the purest route...it could simply be that they DID get the real professor in PTS and that all the adventures we saw from season 3 on were just doubles.

I loved this series. Decided to reach because I haven't seen it since it aired, and completely missed the last season. I agree that could be brought back, but halfway into season one I realize how campy it truly was. I think it could be revived in basic premise, but perhaps with new characters, and a more serious plot device in place of the campyness.

The theory of a multi verse in theoretical physics is considered highly possible by top scientists past and present. I am not even a student of science, so i dont know any terms or theories in depth. But the fact that the smartest people in the world, including Einstein, believe it is possible would make for a more high tech, more sci-fi centric drama. I remember feeling some of the best episodes were the ones that went down different evolutionary tracks and the ones where technological advances led to destruction.

They'll be rebooting more sucessful shows like Mcgyver (in the works by cbs) and Quantum Leap before they even think about this one.

reply

Sadly, that's true. Even if the actors are all willing, I doubt any network would greenlight it. The best hope Sliders fans may have is a reboot of some sort.

I doubt JoC would do it, after such a bitter ending for this show and him. He has spoke about it on Howard Stern and he does seemed quite annoyed about the end of the project.. But what is he doing now, he can always use the money?

I asked Jerry last year if he would return and he's up for it if co-creator Tracy Tormé is: http://www.slidecage.com/jerryoconnell2015/. Today DigitalSpy released an interview too and John Rhys-Davies was hinting at it: http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/news/a784497/john-rhys-davies-opens-up-about-sliders-it-was-the-single-biggest-missed-opportunity-of-my-life/

Torme could always try to sell it to Netflix, Amazon Prime or the like. I mean, if Netflix can put out a requel(remake/sequel) to "Full House", they can't do any worse by producing a "Sliders" one as well.

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey.

First scene needs to be of Wade kicking Kromagg buttocks and rescuing everybody else (except Maggie). Otherwise, don't bother.

reply

No, first scene needs to be Arturo alive and well, somehow making us understand that all that Kromagg, Colin, Maggie, Mallory BS was just a dream, or doubles, or whatever.
