Why is this so difficult to find on DVD?

This series - being as influential and popular as it is - you would hope that it was more widely available on physical media, yet it seems pretty difficult to find the series and the films on DVD. Does anyone understand why? Could someone also shed light as to why it hasn't been re-released after all these years? Thanks.

It had been consistently in-print ever since its release up until the time that Rebuild came out. I don't know for sure that the two are connected, but my suspicion is that they are and that it will probably be re-released on blu-ray after Rebuild is finished.

I thought it was because ADV had a falling out and went bankrupt and Manga had the rights to the first 2 Eva movies, and now Rebuild is under a different distributor paying a heavy price for the rights to it... Anime Works? no... I can't remember who has Rebuild right now. I haven't seen Eva TV on DVD since the Premium DVD set was released... and that's.... been quite a while. But the Premium DVDs are the BEST version of the TV show... mainly because the audio really is fantastic... though some of the voice cast are slightly different from the original releases, though most are the same.

On rare occasions Sci...uh, Syfy, FX or Cartoon Network has shown the TV series very late at night, but that's been a while too.
