What happened??

The Queens Nose was such a brilliant series until the very recent series with that boy with braces. Its become SO rubbish.

Anyway, was it cancelled or something?

If only i had a shrunken talking head to help me out of this scrape!

I hope you're not dissing Jordan Metcalfe and Lucinda Dryzek! That would make me rather cross...

Theirs is the only series I've seen, actually, so I can't really compare it with the others.

Buit if you didn't like that particular incarnation of the programme, you're probably in luck. Ms. Dryzek told me on the official Help! I'm a Teenage Outlaw message board - and I'll quote her verbatim - "I dont think that me and jordan will be doing another queens nose !!!!!"

They could make another series with another all-new cast and all-new setting, but I can't think of any good reason for them to do so. If your reaction is at all typical, it didn't work last time, so why bother trying it again? A show that changes its cast and setting with every series seems a daft idea to me in any case. Any fanbase that one series builds up would have to be built again almost from scratch, as it would be like a different programme each time.

And just as a historical note, the time slot that The Queen's Nose was in in 2003 was filled last year by the putrescent tripe that was Shoebox Zoo. For some bizarre reason, that was quite popular, so I expect that will be continued. I don't know enough about scheduling to know if the "same time slot" thing is significant, but I could speculate that Shoebox Zoo is, in some sense, a replacement for The Queen's Nose...

However, just to make you happy, one of the earlier series of The Queen's Nose (I don't know which) is now being repeated, starting from today. It's on BBC1 from 16:30 to 17:00. I know I've left it a bit late for a plug, but I'll start a new thread about it anyway, just to draw it to people's attention.

What happened with The Queen's Nose???
I watched the first ever series (back in 1995 I think it was) and it was absolutely great (with Victoria Shalet and Paula Wilcox).
The one that was based on the original book by Dick King Smith.
Does anyone else remember that?
I stopped watching a few years ago-when most of the original cast had gone,
(somewhere after the family won a trip to some haunted house or something) and I was horrified with what was in it's place,in the most recent incarnations of The Queen's Nose..
I am really very cross that it's lost the magical aura it once had,and that the only remaining characters from the first origninal series's are Melody and Gregory.

and on the subject of Shoebox Zoo,I found it quite amusing and entertaining.
Not great, but intriguing, albeit not entirely original.
More like a combination of sevral late 1990's Childrens TV dramas.

Yea 'Bernards Watch' used to be fantastic and really funny but now its C-R-A-P I think this kinda proves that you shouldn't mess with classics...

Your calling Bernards Watch a classic? If I hadn't just been to the toilet I probably would have p**sed myself laughing.
