It's being repeated

Just to make you happy (yes, person who is reading this, you personally!), one of the earlier series of The Queen's Nose is now being repeated, starting from today. It's on BBC1 from 16:30 to 17:00.

I don't know which series, but perhaps you can deduce it from the following episode description that I've nicked from the Radio Times website. (If you can, please let us know!)

Children's drama series about a magical coin which makes dreams come true. Sam uses the Queen's Nose to improve a run-down ghost train at the local fun fair - with disastrous consequences. Meanwhile, Gregory and Melody find themselves looking after the boy from next door when his father is taken away by the police.

But I expect I've left this plug a bit late now. After all, who is going to read this before this afternoon?

reply

Your plug was worthwhile. Just read it. Going to watch it now.

Yay! One of my posts was useful! Thanks for letting me know. :)

Of course it's not funny to you, if you're old enough to be posting comments on the imdb website, or any website not made specifically for children, it's not supposed to entertain you.

Besides which, it's a far sight better than any of the ****poor attempts at childrens TV you dumb yanks have made.

Its on again on CBBC every day next week from 2 til 4pm

Us english? Ok so the queens nose aint funny, but our comedy is far superior to yours. Where you stuff *beep* down our english throats like friends, frasier, malcomn in the middle, will and grace, etc etc i would much rather be watching british stuff like red dwarf, bottom, young ones, alan partridge, gimme gimme gimme, league of gentlemen etc etc, all of which are far funnier than your weak, watered down excuse for comedy. Jackass had the right idea and even they didn't come close.

i agree the americans don't have a clue how to make good comedy programmes! the only half way decent one ever was taxi and even that was just amusing!

i'm just trying to work out how the episodes on ccbc are being repeated. it is on at the moment and this the first day of it (Monday) this first one is called 'Harmony's Holiday'. it is running continous with no adverts for 1 hour and 40 mins. not sure if this is a complete series because as far as i know a complete series was x6 25 min episodes. so if anyone knows any more on how the series was originally put out on air or how the series ran please let me know!

thanks!

reply

Was Harmony's Holiday a feature-length special? I have a vague idea that it might have been, but I'm not sure.

The only reason americans don't like out comedy is cuz they don't understand it hahahaha but we understand theirs cuz it is sooo simple.

Maxine Purvis: What you looking at?
Yvonne Atkins: Not half as as many years as you.

Harmonys Holiday was i think Series 3. i have it as a feature length special lasting 90 mins but dont know if that was the same length that the original series ran for.

reply

Thanks for the reply. I imagine they probably edited the episodes down very slightly, to get the whole series down to that length.

I have the video of the first two episodes of the first series, and also the video they made from the whole of the first series, with all the episodes run together. The latter seemed to have a suspiciously short run time (about 100 minutes), so I briefly tried comparing the two videos, to see if anything was cut out. I found a scene or two where some long, lingering shots were cut short. Perhaps the short run time could be explained just by shots being cut short like that. But to be honest, comparing the two videos in detail would be too boring, so I haven't done a thorough check.
