In a superficial way it reminds me of another mini series, The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard. Jane Horrocks is an English housewife who enters politics almost by accident only to find her husband has being having an affair.
Not quite. Mr Pritchard was not having an affair. He pinched a girl's backside at a party (while drunk) once, but that's it. Ros discovers that he had embezzled money about 10 years earlier.
