Does anyone remember Scorsese's exact definition of film noir from this documentary? I remember he talked about how the main characters are constantly run into obstacles in the way of what they are trying to do or something along these line...Does anyone remember what it was he said?

He uses a line from the film Detour along the lines of fate always stick a foot out to trip you up.
