Americans went around for many years believing themselves immune to what happened in Germany back in the 1930's - I think that bubble has been burst for most of us now. It's happened before, democracies backsliding into authoritarianism, and it could happen in the US if we're not careful. I will admit this episode popped into my head back when the Orange Ogre won the Republican nomination in 2016. It's a story based on a historically recurring theme that happens to be timely right now.

His policies remind me more of George W. Bush.
