Glad it's finally on DVD, but . . .

. . . why didn't they include any extras? Interviews with the actors, director, etc.? Perhaps a tribute to the late great Alan Bates? I guess I shouldn't complain, I'm glad it's finally available, but a little something extra might have been nice.

I feel the same. the TV special had such wonderful commentary by Diana Rigg that is missing from the DVD. A lot of the other PBS vidoes I have seen include these interspersions. This one would have benefited from this too.

Also glad to finally have this on DVD, despite the obvious lack of extras. I thought that the original film had a different sequence in the scene where the couple stop at the ruined church to declare themselves "unhusband" and "unwife". Was something cut there, or did my memory expand this scene?
