I have contacted every possible connection to get this series on DVD. "E" netwoek, CBS, and so on. Is there a conspiracy or something where they are trying to hide this series? I don't understand. Everyone call "E" and CBS to demand this on dvd.
This guy is so cute, and funny. I couldn't wait to watch this when it did come on. I hope the dvd episodes come out soon. Who cares about political correctness Timothy Stack knows how to have fun.
There is a small chance that we'll see Nightstand on DVD. But... perhaps as Digital Downloads gain traction which means NO DVD mastering or costs... it'll end up on Amazon, etc.
I actually forgot about this series... until recently. I'm got a spare computer that only copies my VHS tapes, I realized I had about 500 VHS tapes and figure I'd never buy another VCR once it dies. So I ran across the Nightstand tapes and didn't know what it was until I played it... "OH YEAH, that series!".
There are 48 1hr eps, I managed to record about 30 eps. And NO, the recordings aren't available for obvious legal reasons. I'm giving all my tapes to recycle / Goodwill etc - so someone will get them if they cared. :( some of the tapes are slightly damaged and all other issues with the old format.
If Nightstand was out on DVD, it'd be on 8-9 discs.
What city are you in? I have a couple of tapes with about 20 episodes or so, if you are getting rid of the tapes maybe I can get them from you for personal use and try to get the series completed.
It is remarkable that this series has NOT made it to DVD when so much CRAP has. Tim Stack is a genius. He STILL is a genius. I see his writing credits on some top, Top, TOP shows. So, he's a force to be reckoned with. Hopefully, he has some pull and will release this on DVD.
Actually, now that I think of it --and it's been a while-- EVERYONE on the cast was brilliant. Maybe they were natively brilliant or maybe the direction on the show was superlative and brought out the best of a so-so cast. Whatever the reason, NIGHTSTAND MUST BE RELEASED ON DVD!
One episode is on YouTube and it has a Paramount Comedy symbol in the corner so maybe Paramount owns the rights. Would be nice if it was on EpixHD streaming, at least.
