Was this the made for t.v. movie i remember? Was this the one *I* beleive they took Lost from.. like the hidden lab in the jungle, the wierd monster in the water, and the exploding fruit?

The exploding fruit was from Danger Island (1992), a failed NBC movie pilot that wasn't picked up, starring June Lockhart, Richard Beymer, Joe Lara, Kathy Ireland, Eddie Velez, etc., as plane crash survivors who find the island with contamination on it. Yes, very similar to Lost, secret goings-on on an island.
This Mysterious Island version was during the Civil War, anyway.
Lost and Danger Island are present day.
Patrick Stewart made a 3-hour version of the mysterious island.. it may be the one you want.
LOST was clearly based on the basic idea of the original French novel, in addition to Lord of the Flies of course.
