Something I've never understood (SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!! !)

SPOILERS!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!SPOILERS!!!

Wouldn't the police have checked the ENTIRE apartment (the murder scene) after the murder? How was it possible that the police missed the video camera behind the wall? It would have cleared Neil's name.
I know it's nitpicking, but it's kinda of bugged me since the show first aired.

I thought about that too, but I guess it was pretty well hidden - and the police did have a gilt-edged suspect in custody immediately. With a confession, DNA, and CCTV evidence they had Neil Avedon bang to rights. I doubt the police felt the need to look much further for a conviction.

I would think, in this day and age, that the apartment would have been more thoroughly searched, since they knew from the get-go that this was a high profile case.

Also, it took Teddy and co. several hours to find it even though they were specifically looking for it - I think it was very well hidden.

The series was written and took place long before nanny-cams or personal surveillance systems were something that an ordinary private citizen would own. It wouldn't have occurred to either the detectives or the Defense team to search for them. It wasn't till it "sunk in" how rich Stanley Tucci's character was that they entertained the notion that anyone other than an insanely wealthy individual could afford such a system.

Now if this took place in the era of CSI knowledge, the plotline would have lasted one or two episodes.

The only thing worse than a bad movie, is someone who states their Opinion as Fact.

reply

Even today I think it would have been hard to find. Police don't normally tear off door frames and look behind walls.
