I have looked high and low in the credits and I cannot see who composed the music for this show -- I love it and I would love to find it on CD can anyone assist ? I think the opening music just really set the mood and tone Thanks
Thanks so much -- now I am off to scour ebay and every other music source to see if I can find it -- and you are correct - long may he continue to write TV theme music
To the best of my knowledge there has been no release of the shows music, unfortunatley. I have emailed various people who represent Mike Post but none of them know of any future release. I do have the shows opening theme in high quality if you are interested. I can send via email.

IF you go to soundtrack.net you can get a list of the composers agents etc, i went to the the websites for their email addresses. Good luck on reply though...

It would be great if the powers that be would follow fan boards - think of the additonal pots of money that they could make if they would release the classic movbies, Tv shows and music that people clamor for instead of what they think we all want LOL
Mike Post has written such great music for TV. The NYPD Blue theme and opening is definitely my favorite. To me, it's the best TV introduction to any show in history.
Murder One's theme and introduction are quite excellent, too, and in the same league as NYPD Blue's, in my opinion. He also did Law and Order, Hill Street Blues, and many others. Awesome, awesome stuff.
I couldn't agree more he is one of the best composers of contemporary drama music - funny how often people that write TV themes aren't included in list of composers however their art is just as complex since from maybe 60-90 seconds each week they have to draw you into the world of the show that will unfold in the next 60 minutes.
The theme composer of a show is always listed in the opening credits, not in the closing credits. The one in the closing credits is the one has done the music for the specific episode.
FRom my experience, they're both listed in the opening credits. The writer of the theme song is listed first, followed by whoever did the music for that episode (unless the same person did both).
Sounds just as compelling as I remember it from almost 20 years ago. My husband and I loved this show, it wasn't your usual TV crap. When Daniel Benzali (Teddy) left, though, it essentially killed off the show.
