One of the characters was named Dr. Aiden Pettit. His primary forte apart from his professional side was trying to 'screw' any female within reach.
You can perhaps imagine the heartfelt laugh I had when I found out that one of the inventors of the 'SCREW propeller' was named Francis PETTIT Smith. Coincidence? Maybe so, but I don't think so... :-)
I think it's just a coincidence. Petit is a French surname, meaning Small. If there's an intended pun, it would be that the series also has another character named Small.
shareThere was another line in the script (Season One, Episode Two, 'Sacrifice') that made me smile. Dr Aiden (Screw Propeller!) Pettit has the pick-up line 'Did I ever tell you about my interest in Gothic architecture?' and we hear him use it a couple of times. Well, the gothic arch was the metaphor used by Rodin the sculptor for the female, er, use your imagination. Obscure coincidence? Maybe so, but I don't think so... :-)
