I was very little when this show aired but I still remember it being a very intense show. Any way I was wondering how the Maxx came to be seeing as he lives in two diffrent frmaes of mind it's hard to see how he came about. I remember how he got the spikes on his arms with lava I think but not much else can anyone pass along the knowledge? (^_^)

You really got to read the comics to get it because the tv series has its limitations (keeping to entertainment more than story) anyway. So Maxx really has nothing to do with any of it. It could have been anyone. The entire world of Pangea exists because of Julie. It mentions it in the TV series when little Julie says to Julie that you aren't part of Maxx's dream, He is part of yours.
So if you read the comic you see that Julie is driving around one day and hits this bum with her car. This draws Maxx into Julie's fantasy world of Pangea and because Julie has repressed so much of it she is convinced that it was Maxx who was responsible for it all not her. Thats the quick version. i recomend the comics if you want the full version. But yeah, the quick and dirty is that Maxx's orgin is that Julie Winters hit him with her car so he became a crazy ole super hero.
