An Amazing Piece of Work by James Garner!

I just watched "Streets of Laredo" for the first time on the Hallmark Channel. I can't believe I missed the original airing, but I did have a death in the family around that time.
Anyway, what a great piece of work by all involved, but James Garner captured an aging tough, hero's twilight years like nothing I can imagine. In this role, Mr. Garner proved John Wayne correct when he said, "James Garner is the greatest American actor"... I'm not about to argue with the Duke or a performance like the one I just witnessed.

After Tommy Lee Jones. I believe James Garner's performence is the best. And After him Karl Urban does a damn fine Woodrow Call.

I Hate Rude behavior in a man. I Won't tolerate it.-Captain Woodrow F. Call.

Might this be the same John Wayne, who asked Kirk Douglas who, when he played Vincent Van Gogh (& I paraphrase)'Why'd you play him as a weakling, crying over a woman?', to which Kirk repled, 'Duke--it's called acting!'
