They should remake this with Tommy Lee Jones now that he could actually look the part.

Coming in very late here, but I "hyperlinked" your links and each showed the same picture of the back of the DVD - it looks like an accidental "lift" from Return to Lonesome Dove in which Newt/Rick Schroeder did appear. Clumsy packaging production - same kind of thing that happened, for example, with the back covers of The Robe and Demetrius and the Gladiators, with a scene switched over from one film to the other...
