shareThe "crossover" thing could get confusing. The idea of making Phoebe of "Friends" and Ursula of "Mad About You" came about because Lisa Kudrow had been playing Ursula on M.A.Y. when she was cast on "Friends". Both shows were set in New York City.
Helen Hunt and Leila Kenzle appeared on "Friends" as their "Mad About You" characters and mistake Phoebe for her twin sister. David Schwimmer turned up on an episode of "The Single Guy" (he and Jonathan Silverman were friends in real-life), playing Ross Geller. To add to that confusion, Jessica Hecht was a regular cast member of "Single Guy" and also played the girlfriend of Ross' ex-wife on "Friends".
At the same time Lea Thompson guested on friends as her Caroline in the City character. She met Chandler and Joey and thought they were Ben's gay parents.
