How could Hercules keep going?

How was Hercules be able to keep going so strong after he lost his wife and kids?
There are only very few moments where u can see that he is broken like when he is visiting their graves and asking himself why he is still doing this.

Or after his mother died at the beginning of Season 5 he is going strong again.
I lost someone 2 years ago and I'm still completely broken. I wonder how he can do it.

I wish they would have made some more scenes that show how hurt Hercules is deep inside.

Well, Hercules was a strong guy from the inside and out. He could overcome impossible odds even when he wasn't using his physical strength. He had a lot of heart to go with the hype surrounding his legend.
