has anyone read the Hamish Macbeth books by M C Beaton?

theyre fabulous.

I agree - I've read them all and coming from the Highlands of Scotland myself, have really enjoyed the depiction of Highland life (it's not really accurate but who cares?). One word of warning though to anyone picking up the books and expecting them to be identical to the tv series - you will be disappointed. The tv series and book series have Hamish as a police constable in common ... but not much else. Different characters, different storylines ..... but both are great fun!

I love them both, but I look at them as separate entities! They just can't be compared because they're too different. As info-5552 says, the only thing they have in common is Hamish!
I would have loved to see Angela Brodie and the Currie sisters!
