I always thought Daniel Boyle was Danny Boyle: Not the Case?

Being Scottish and all... I always thought Danny Boyle was involved in this,
can somebody please set the record straight?
Danny Boyle: Director, Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, A Life Less Ordinary, Slumdog Millionaire, etc, etc.

Nope, not the case. Daniel Boyle is primarily a writer, although he did make a memorable cameo in an episode of "Hamish Macbeth." It was called "The Lochdubh Deluxe" and he played Mr. Fergusson, the corpse. LOL Anyway, he wrote most of my favorite Hamish episodes as well as some wonderful Inspector Morse scripts like "Dead on Time."

Now here's where it gets a bit tricky: Danny Boyle is the famous director of box office hits like "Trainspotting" and all of the other films you listed above. However, Danny Boyle, who hails from Manchester, also directed two of my very fave Morse episodes: "Masonic Mysteries" and "Cherubim and Seraphim." As far as I can gather, he did not direct any of the Macbeth shows. Hope that sets the record straight.

Thank you very much!
(I apologise for the lateness of my reply).

See, this is why the Screen Actors Guild doesn't allow those registering to use the same name. If someone else is already using it, they have to use something else.

Neither does Equity in the UK, which is why the name "David Walliams" exists.

The show also has a credit for a "Craig Ferguson", who is not the Craig Ferguson of Drew Carey Show or late night American TV fame.

Didn't he also put himself in a cameo at the end of one of the episodes where he calls himself "the world's handsomest man" or something like that?
