Missed It by That Much More

I know some of you are going to give me hater comments like crazy, but I always felt that 99 could have been played by anyone. Barbara Feldon's character ended up being nothing more than some sappy love interest that barely had any personality of her own and only proved her worth as a last-minute savior time after time. At least the new movie (2008) proved me right about her and ended up as good as the first movie.

It's pretty sad when the most interesting character in the show is played by Elaine Hendrix, who by the way didn't even play a member of the Smart family. I'm not attempting to defame her, but making Don Adams a backup character so much that the new female agent actually gets more screen time and better jokes was a HUGE mistake. I have to agree that Andy Dick had to be that "what were they smoking?" casting decision that eventually killed the series. And by eventually, I also mean quickly. They used every cliche in the book, and watered down the humor so badly that fans of the original series were left feeling like they walked into a lactose-based fart cloud. There were only 7 episodes, and thankfully they stopped there.

Stick with the original series and the movies. They are much funnier than this pile.

i always thought Hendrix's extra screen time was an attempt to raise the ratings... if you put the sexy girl on camera more minutes at a time, you have a higher likelihood that prepubescent boys flipping channels will stop and watch her... know what i mean?

I have to agree with you on your theory that by having an attractive and very beautiful woman in front of the camera is always going to catch any guys attention. I do not care if you are busy doing something else it will work trust me on that.

She couldn't have been played by just anyone; considering I wasn't born at the time and I didn't have the legs for it.

But on a serious note. Have you read reviews for THE NUDE BOMB that was missing Barbra Feldon as 99? .... no one couldve filled her shoes.
