MAnga V Anime

I've read the Manga, and I'm looking to watch the anime, and I have two questions

1) I know that the Anime is pretty cool, but does it have the same wacky off style as the Manga, or have they restyled it or changed it around like the sometimes do (eg Mobile Battleship Nadesico).

2) Can I buy it with the Japanese language tracks and accurate subtitles (non of this sanitizing things for kids nonsens, I want smutty lines a pleanty).

Cheers

WierdRaptor is absolutely right.

They utilize the wacky off style of the manga, including many of the SD forms and screwball chibis. God bless Pirrot for that. There should be an AMV on YouTube (if it hasn't been removed) of all these Fushigi Yugi chibis sets to "Soul Bossa Nova." I think they call it "Fushigi Yugi Austin Powers" or something stupid like that. It should give you a fair preview of the animation style.

Secondly, they really don't sanatize for kiddies. Fushigi Yugi was dubbed with the intention of not being aired so it's in its full, uneditied glory, with as you say, "smutty lines a plenty." The localization was really well done, and features a great, professional cast (and for me, the kicker is Daran Norris (Cosmo on the Farily OddParents) is Tasuki, and his wife Mary Elizabeth McGlynn is Nuriko). Seriously, as much as I love the Japanese cast (I adore Tomokazu Seiki (Chichiri) and Hikaru Midorikawa (Tamahome) and Takahito Koyasu (Hotohori) and Kae Araki (Miaka)) but the English cast does an excellent job, and none of them sound like they're trying too hard to play the character. Pioneer (which I now realize seriously dates the production) did something very, very right.

It's "I do" not "Whatever she says!"
