Nope. That would be the 1964 version with Luke Halpin. We want the 1995 version with Jessica Alba.

Logan: Wow. Cuckoo-ka-choo got screwed. (Wolverine).

I'm wondering if it's true. The cover has actors who didn't show up until season 2 and besides when was the last time you saw an 11 disc set for a season that has 22 episodes. There would have to be some major special features. 6 discs worth of special features.

I hope it's true but don't get overexcited yet. I'll believe it when it hits the shelves.

You can only fit 2 hours on a DVD-R. That's why it's an 11 disc set. It's unlikely that there will be much in the way of "special features".

As far as the cover goes, whoever put it together probably doesn't realize the cast changed several times during the show's run. They just grabbed a publicity photo and slapped it on there.

A typical 1 hour series is on 6 discs. I have many series on DVD. All of the 1 hour series have 4 episodes on each disc. 22 episodes would be on 6 discs (5 and 1/2 to be specific). If it is 11 discs then it must be the first 2 seasons with No Special features or 11 discs with half of those being special features. It could also just be a mistake.

Which is besides the point, because these are being released on DVD-R. MGM is releasing it as part of their On Demand series, which is done on DVD-R to keep costs down. Hence, they'll only be able to put about two episodes on each disc. They're doing the same thing with the second season of the original series from the 60's.

Or it'll be just season with two episodes on each disc.

I realize this is a very old post, but your statement is irrelevant. I don't know where you got your information about DVD-Rs, but they are not limited to 2 hours. A DVD-R can record the same amount of information that would be on a typical DVD. If the producers of this DVD were using 11 discs it would be because they were using that as an excuse to charge more. It isn't due to a technical limitation of DVD-R as you seemed to have thought.

Technically speaking, it is available on DVD here in the US. I don't know how it works when it comes to ordering, but its done by on-demand burning. Another words, the DVD is not made until you order it.

Here is the thing, directly from the link from flipper season one page.
-----------------
CD-Rs and DVD-Rs (the "R" stands for "recordable") look like the discs you're used to and offer the same audio and image quality. This recordable media is used to manufacture titles on demand, as fully authorized by the content provider.

Through manufacturing on demand, CreateSpace, part of the Amazon.com group of companies, enables Amazon.com to offer music and video content that might not otherwise be available. Each disc comes fully packaged, with artwork, in a standard jewel case for audio and an Amaray case for video, although for reissued products the artwork may differ from the original.

CreateSpace works with many of the leading music labels, television networks, film studios, and other distributors to make these titles available to Amazon.com customers. All products are manufactured from original source materials (e.g., for audio products, uncompressed CD-quality audio).

By eliminating inventory, waste, and inefficiencies in the distribution system, on-demand manufacturing provides the added benefit of helping preserve the environment.

When shopping, you'll see CD-R or DVD-R on the product detail page for such products. Amazon.com's standard return policy applies to these purchases.

------------------
The only problem is, earlier today, I saw it cost $60 bucks to buy, and had an order link and everything, now, tonight, it does not, so in this case I would not know how to order it. However, I might check again when it is not 12: 00 midnight. However, what I saw with it being for sale could have been a complete fluke.
