The Death of Margaret Thatcher

I remember seeing this miniseries years ago, in which the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was referred to--now that that event has come to pass in reality, I wonder if PBS will repeat "The Final Cut" anytime soon.

Yes, I've been watching the new Blu-ray release this evening, and thinking the same thing.

Thatcher aside, I would have thought they'd have given it another run on the TV if only to capitalise on the new restoration.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

I think it's likely that he's supposed to have held the office for at least a decade. Recall that he turns 65 in this series, and he's probably close to Ian Richardson's actual age in House of Cards (Richardson was about 57 IRL when HoC was filmed, and I'm guessing that Urquhart is supposed to be around 55 or 56 years old at that point). I don't think Final Cut is set in anything much later than early 2000 at the most, but since none of the trilogy reference specific dates it's difficult to be certain of an exact time frame.
