And I know that is part of the joke/humor of the show. Especially Father Jack's area downstairs. But it's just so gross to look at sometimes. Mrs. Doyle really is a terrible housekeeper!

My first order of business would be keeping Father Jack in his own room and never allowing him downstairs. Then all that tacky wallpaper and paint would be next on my list.

It's such a great looking house from the outside. And had such great potential to be a cozy, quaint, country home. But instead...yechhh!!!

My dads side of the family is Polish and I swear on my life my grandads house was almost a spitting image of Craggy Islands broken house.

Plus you'd have to make sure that no-one can jump out of the window either!

But, but...it's a TV show. It's comedy, it plays better with the tacky decor. Half the fun is Father Jack sitting there in his stupor and never knowing when he'll explode.

I probably couldn't live in the parochial house for more than a day! The smell would kill most people. The irony of how beautiful it looks from the outside is exactly what makes it so funny though! HA!

I've always liked the inspired choice of wallpaper in the bathroom. It would stop anyone from spending more time than necessary in there!

Same, The idea was that this was a very poorly looked after parish
