For some reson that image has remained in my head - I only ever saw this series once when I was a kid but can still remember being frightened by a sinister looking museum curator. Didn't a child drown in a swimming pool or something...? But then museums don'e have swimming pools so maybe my memories are incorrect.

I think you may be confusing the curator with Mark Gatiss' similar cave guide from The League of Gentlemen - a dour ginger bearded tour guide haunted by the accidental death of a schoolboy.
