Writers on the show

There were some impressive names who wrote for this show. First it was masterminded by Brian Clemans who brought John Steed and Emma Peel in The Avengers. Then there was Stephen Gallagher who wrote Romana and K-9 out of Doctor Who and then there was the pairing of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar whose first produced work was for Bugs, they would later go on create Smallville.

Yes, there were some great writers, one of the things that set it apart from similar fare and helps to keep it so watchable even today. Stephen Gallagher is still active, no doubt many of the other writers are too - I wish Carnival would see the potential in some sort of revival as they've had a lot of success and have become a bigger name in TV than in the 90s. It seems like this series would be ripe for a return, getting someone like Gallagher to show run. A pipe dream I suppose...

Well Carnival have produce Stan Lee's Lucky Man(and Stephen Gallagher worked on it) so it shows that they are quite happy to dip into genre material and not stick to just period pieces. I think I must be one of the few people in the UK has not seen an episode of Downton Abbey though I did watch The Last Kingdom as I am a sucker for middle ages battle scenes.
