Mira Sorvino's accent...

was pretty spot-on, wasn't it?

I've never thought much of her as an actress (to me, she'll aways be Romy), but I was really impressed with her here. She, along with the actress who played Ms. Testvalley, were the best actresses in the series.

Mira Sorvina was good, but imo, it's the veteren actresses who had the strong performances in this project, including Cherie Lunghi. I think Jenny Agutter (Edina) was perfect, as were Rosemary Leach (Lady Brightlingsea) and Sheila Hancock (Dowager Duchess).

Allison Eliott & Mira Sorvino were the best of the younger set.I preferred the ladies you mentioned.

Oddly --somewhat-- Mira kept the accent in her next film --forget the sequence-- "Barcelona" and it's pretty much the same character 80ys later.
