Why still no DVDs for Seasons 2, 3 and yr 2000 series?

Anyone know why these seasons have not been released on VHS or DVD at this late time? Very frustrating for an excellent series, too!

Well, I've just seen that DVDs have been released called "Season 1" "Season 2" and "Season 3" as well as "Series 4"..."Series 4" came out first if I recall, but it turned out to be those last two 2-parter/TV movie episodes ("Loose Women" and "Our Brave Boys") When I saw those two on Masterpiece Theatre, they were called "Bramwell series 6." I first became acquainted with the show in the middle of MT's "Series 5" and then they re-ran the fourth run of episodes, which I only caught some of.
When the VHS tapes originally came out, they had series 1 & 2 combined on 4 tapes, and then a 2-tape set for series 3...it was shortly after I had purchased these that the "Series 4" DVD came out of the last two movies. I've heard that the DVDs of season 1 did a crappy formatting job, such as chopping an episode in half, starting with the beginning on the end of one disk and then putting the end at the beginning of the next disk...and I'm wondering if it's actually both 1 & 2 like the tapes, especially since season 2 was also just recently released as its own DVD (I'm also wondering if it might have been a series 2 episode that was divided between 2 disks and the season 2 DVD corrects that inconvenience). Or, did they just totally renumber the series...What the heck happened to those first episodes I ever saw? They don't seem to be anywhere on VHS or DVD!

Oh man -- I've just watched disc 1 of season 1, and they do indeed stop in the middle of the third episode. At a kind of cliffhanger moment -- you'll know what I mean if you see it.

Also, what the aitch -- Duncan Bell, who gives such a heart-wrenching performance as the ruined heir of his wealthy family, poor and bitter and dying of consumption -- yeah! I think it's in episode 5 of the first season. Anyway, IMDB does not show him as being credited -- he IS, gosh durn it, in the rolling credits at the end of the original videocassettes. So I ask why IMDB does not credit him here. Sloppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

******SPOILER ALERT*************
Also, there was a memorable performance in the second episode by an actress whom I should know, but don't -- she plays the music-hall chanteuse, Peggy Hart, who is having an affair with Eleanor's father. That actress is wonderful. Who is she? Again, IMDB neglects to mention her in the cast. For shame.

Oh well, I'm happy the series is out on DVD now.

I haven't been able to get these on DVD at ALL. I used to have the complete collection on VHS (which had cost me around £50 a set, by the way, since they were newly released), which my AUNT promptly "borrowed", never returned and watched until the tapes were virtually ruined.

Can't even watch these on ITV player anymore - last time I tried, every two minutes of the episode would pause and I'd be forced to watch five minutes of adverts so I gave up on this (how bloody ridiculous!), it took me about forty minutes to get through fifteen minutes worth of the program and by then I ended up just shutting the site down in complete frustration.

I really HOPE these do come out on DVD eventually...it was such an outstanding show, with such a real dramatic sense of the Victorian era. It's interesting seeing the mix of the upper-class and lower-class characters and how they all interact in the thrift. Such a joy to watch.
