it's time the beatle's cd's get remastered!!!

aright so these cd's have been in print since '88 or whatever w/ the same '88 transfers. yes they sound good and all, but after the release of let it be... naked, the simply don't compare. granted some of let it be... naked was a bit different from the original lib. however, the new mix and transfer is incredible. even the new mixes on the '99 edition of yellow submarine are really great. but its about time EMI goes to the vault and find the original tapes and give us fans the best sound recording possible w/ today's standards!

They dont need to get rematered they sound fine, as it is.

that would be a great thing to do. i know the originals are just that, the originals. the ones many fell in love with. but there will always be the originals. if they enhance the music it would sound amazing. especially their later albums. i would love to hear "Come Together" remastered. right when the guitar comes in during the chorus just makes the song. Listening to Sgt. Pepper's remastered would be very exciting as well of course ending with "Day In The Life".

I'm all for re-mastering, but let's not confuse re-mixing with re-mastering. I didn't care much for the Yellow Submarine Soundtrack as it was re-mixed in '99, but the re-mastered tunes on 1 were a step in the right direction. These CD's, especially the early ones, do not sound fine. I'm glad they are available and the albums are some of my favorites, but the original vinyl mastering sounds way better than what was available in 1987, when the first of the Beatle CD's were released. The Stones have been re-mastered and they sound great. Some Led Zeppelin re-masters are available on import from Japan and they sound incredible! It is about time these are re-mastered but please no more re-mixing.

I agree, the Beatles CD's do need to be remastered. They do not sound good at all. I feel that it's a crime, simply. I've picked up several other popular remasters, including Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, and the Rolling Stones. There is a remarkable difference compared to the original CD releases. I suppose one reason why they (EMI) haven't remastered is that they don't have to. Beatles albums will sell no matter what.
I wish I had a kick-a_s turntable, and the entire MFSL collection. That, and all the mono releases.

Listen to the Anthology DVDs (the official one, I haven't heard/seen the '10 DVD' 1993 Director's cut) with headphones on. They DEFINITELY cleaned those up. Pretty amazing. I remember 'Flying' and all the later songs sounding particularly multi dimensional.

It's about time EMI go to the vault, and release everthing.

Word is that EMI is working on the remasters right now, and will be released starting next year.

Oh, I so hope that they will remaster those lovely albums soon.... I'm aching to own them all. I'm missing quite a few originals and I've told myself not to buy the older ones if I'm going to replace my whole collection with new ones.
Are they really coming soon? *hoping*
I'd wish they'd put up a box, like the wooden one, only less expensive.

They need to release the mono version of Sgt Pepper

They're going to for the 40th anniversary this year!

I want them to remaster them, but not really change them. The re-mix of Walrus on the Anthology DVD ruins the ambiance of the sound.

However, the primitive stereo mix on Revolver makes the whole album sound cold and detached. Also, listen to the guitar opening on 'I want to hold your hand'--its almost comical.

I would like to see them go back to the original tracksm, before they were 'bounced down' to 2 track or 4 track, and go from there.

They don't need to be remastered, just re-packaged. That's what makes The Beatles the best ever, 'cause they'll sound just as good in 100 years. It would be great if they remade the CD itself and put in better liner notes.

"Yellow Submarine" should have been released as an EP.
