i know in the original band of gold tracy was 15 but a rough estimate of her age in the second series would be around 15-16

I just watched the series again on dvd- God, I love Band of Gold. But none of the dates ever match up!!! It was 'doing my head in' as Carol would say...
In one of the early episodes of the first season it said that Tracy ran away when she was 14, and she had been missing for 8 months. So that would make her 14 or 15, depending on when her birthday was.
Then her and Rose went down to London, and it seemed as though a long time had passed, although it didn't say how long. Carol was in the mental institution for pouring boiling water over Curly- she had to have been there for at least 6 months, maybe more considering the severity of what she did and how sick she was.
Then of course they came back, and Tracy (seeing as this is technically a board for the FIRST series, the following is a spoiler, although I'm guessing the majority of people have seen all 3 series, especially 2 as it was the best!!!!)

Tracy goes mental and kills all those blokes, then goes home and kills herself. But it doesnt say how long a time period had elapsed between the first series and the second. But her pimp from series one and George Ferguson have both been let out of prison, and had been in there for a while, so I'm guessing she was supposed to be at least 17 or 18 at that point.
Of course it doesnt help that Carols kid Emma never gets any older, leaving us clueless as to how much time has past. And dont get me started on Rose and her Time Travelling baby, who changes ages depending what episode or season you're on.............!!!!!
I was reading an article about how much time passes between the 1st and 2nd series and i believe its six months, this would make sense as george fergusons prison sentence and tracy pimp would likely have been around this length, its safe to assume tracy is 15 by end of series 1 so it would stand to reason that is likely late 15 in season 2 or recently turned 16 as years have not yet passed.

that settles it then, straight from the horses mouth, the horrific scenes I think Samantha is referring to are the scenes from series 2 which makes sense as in terms of timeline a significant amount of time has passed between series one going to London returning to Bradford so tracies age in series 2 is 17 and 15-16 in series 1
