Letting Michelle go by herself on another escalator in mall

How come he lets her ride an escalator by herself? This guy takes bullets for her, sleeps in his clothes, and musters all his will power to refuse her seduction. Yet he's not by her side when the mall is full of killers?

How come he lets someone else (the lady assassin) jump on her when he wouldn't even let her drink some water in the first scene at her house?

Allan lets Michelle ride an escalator by herself because he wants to use her as a bait.

Allan is a very trained bodyguard,
so he can watch Michelle while search 4 the other killers.
