michael madsen kevin costner

Michael madsen is three years younger then costner.
Why not a older actor for virgil

madsen more accurately portrays the character of virgil than costner does of earp....costner only thinks he's a sports or western hero...he has a weak jaw line and pointy receding chin and a hawk nose which he can never overcome with his weak whiny voice....the only reason he gets these choice roles is his monetary investment as a producer...other casting....mare winingham has got to be the most homely and most ugly woman i have ever seen on film....

Hey sandcrab...good name for you. Have you looked in the mirror lately? You probably don't have one because they all shattered when you did look. Kevin Costner is a handsome leading man. He always will be. Look at Robert Redford, Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, and others. They all age. We all do. It's not a crime. It's life. Carpe Diem.

If you look at archival photographs or drawings and engravings of people from the 19th century you'll see that Costner really does have the right physical characteristics.

Everything you've said about his appearance is true; he does have a weak jaw, a hawk nose and a pointy chin (in addition his eyes are too close together, his face is long and he has a large overbite), but it fits perfectly well. He doesn't have a "modern" face at all. I realised that a long time before I ever saw this film.

Dennis Quaid also looks the part in this film.

Kevin Costner is attractive and has that extra "something" that makes him a star.

Most of the most famous actors and stars are not conventional handsome. Mostly tho it is personality carrying the day with these people. They get by on the force of that more than anything.
