Strange that I still havent seen this film...

And yet I was there when they were filming it! This is a bit of a blast from the past, but they were filming it out in Ballyknocken and several cousins of mine were "extras" in the movie I think. They were kinda friendly with Mia Farrow and her family so I was privy enough to get to hang around the film set and watch the goings on. Occasionally you'd pass the actors on the way to trailers and what have you. Seems like a cool thing now, but at the time I was bored out of my skull! Amazingly I still havent seen it! Maybe I'll rent it some day and look for my relations in it!

What's the fun of being in a movie for 3 seconds if you don't have relatives scouring the film to see your face?

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

I loved this movie. And you should definitely see it. The acting was very good, the scenery was beautiful, and it had a good ending. I had never heard of it. I try to keep up with all the movies coming out, because I love movies, but I had never heard of "Widows' Peak". I happened to see it on Netflix and read the synopsis, and decided to give it a try. So glad I did.

It's available via eBay for about $15, including postage, through 'redtagmarket' - others want a bit more. It's a fun film to watch on or around St. Paddy's Day - I originally watched it for Mia Farrow and Joan Plowright, having not seen Natasha Richardson in any films, at the time. I was very please with the film, it works well as both a mystery and a comedy! The acting was well done, and the twist at the end was quite funny. Now, watching it on or around St. Paddy's Day will be bittersweet ... but hopefully, the Neeson boys will benefit from their beautiful mother's artistic efforts and talents.

Skip it. It's feeble.

Somehow it got a hundred percent favorable rating on Rotten Tomatoes. (Citizen Kane doesn't even get a hundred percent)

I must agree about being on movie sets. I was an extra in the long-ago movie "Scorpio" during the part that was filmed in Washington,DC, and by the end of my four-day involvement I was bored to tears. Fortunately I took a book with me the second day and forward. I don't know how movie people survive the making of films if juella90's and my experiences are representative. The fact that I got to talk to Alain Delon and Gayle Hunnicutt did relieve the boredom a bit. She was much prettier close up and in person than I had imagined, and she had her young daughter with her, showing her off to everyone. That part was nice.

Wow... I cant believe it's 10 years since I posted this! Guess what. I still havent seen it! lol I really should check it out just for curiosity's sake.

It was a shame about Natasha Richardson. I can still see her in the makeup trailer, chatting with the makeup person.
