The (Video's) Description Says Louisiana is the Setting

The book and original movie setting is in Ozark, Oklahoma.

Shreveport LA is the northernmost city in Louisiana, which is over 300 miles from where the original movie took place. How did the entire town move that distance, during WWII? Or was this artistic license?

Discuss. Serious answers only please. Thanks in advance.

The books ends with the family moving to town with the money that Billy and the hound dogs earn thru coon hunting.

In the book, I have no memory of them mentioning what town they were moving too but I always assume they were moving to a town in Arkansas.

From Wikipedia: Billy's father tries to tell him that it is all for the best, because with the money they received from winning the championship hunt, they can move to town.
